OEA Word Cloud

Happy Friday to everyone. This is something that Andre Harboe from our office put together and I think it’s pretty cool. He ran our full economic and revenue forecast document through Wordle to create the word cloud below, all 103 pages of it. For those of you who are less inclined to read the whole thing, this provides a pretty good high level snapshot of the major themes. This is adjusted somewhat for plural vs singular uses of words and the like.

Word Cloud 0313 forecast v3

I think we’re going to try this with a few more items in the near future such as county population growth, the employment forecast by industry and the like. It would also be something to try and go back through the previous forecast documents over, say, the past 5 years and watch the frequency of “good” and “bad” words change. Anyway, we just wanted to share.
