This is a great graph on the front page of the weekend edition of the Wall Street Journal. I was unable to find an ungated online version of the graph and the article, however below is a scan.

It is a great concept to think about, which, sadly, I feel does get overlooked. (I have also not seen any others discuss it really) Especially as we move forward and discuss the strength of the current expansion – see this post for more information on Oregon’s Big Picture, Long Run Forecasting.
